Application of hyperbranched polyesters as templating agents for producing nanoporous organosilicates
Abstract
Hyperbranched polyesters were found to be excellent materials for templating nanostructures in organosilicates. It was noted that their chain-end functionality and high solubility permits for the compatibilization of the polyester/methylsilsesquioxane (MSQQ) mixture on a nanoscopic scale. Hyperbranched polyesters can also be incorporated to the MSQQ matrix at higherloading levels, which in turn reduces the size of the pores of organosilicate films.
