Zero-phonon photochemistry of hydrogen bonded hyroxy quinones as studied by photochemical hole burning
Abstract
It is shown that several hydroxy quinones undergo photochemical transformation at low temperatures (1.8K). This phenomenon, which is investigated by photochemical hole burning, is shown to be extremely matrix dependent. From spectroscopic data and from CNDO model calculations it is concluded that the photochemical process involves both intramolecular and intermolecular hydr bonds. © 1979.
