Superlattice effects in acceptor GICs
Abstract
We review and discuss two kind of effects of the short- or long-range "super-lattice" ordering of the charged acceptor molecules on the electronic properties of stage 1 and stage 2 intercalates, such as AsF5 or SbCl5 GICs. The first effect is on optical properties, where several new features are proposed to arise from "zone folding". The second one is on Fermi surface properties, where the zone folding has even more drastic consequences, leading to a multiplicity of orbits, and other effects. © 1985.
