The superconducting transition affects the positron-annihilation lifetime in the high-Tc oxides. This effect is due to the unusual properties of the oxides in the normal state and, in particular, to the small Fermi energy. The value of the shift also depends on the interlayer distance. © 1990 Plenum Publishing Corporation.
