Local quench spectroscopy on a digital quantum computer
Abstract
We propose and demonstrate a novel approach for simulating local quench spectroscopy on quantum hardware. We simulate infinite translationally invariant systems using a number of qubits that depends linearly on the evolution time and perform local measurements of strongly correlated quantum matter on silicon spin devices. This enables us to obtain high-resolution data without extensive experimental resources. Our long-term goal is to enable materials scientists to rapidly characterize candidate materials for target applications, allowing them to quickly iterate and tune the quantum mechanical properties of their models to achieve desired features.
