Error Rate Performance of Experimental Gigabit Per Square Inch Recording Components
Abstract
Advances in heads, disks and channels have made it possible to do magnetic recording at much higher densities than are in common use today. This paper describes experiments in which data were recorded at 1 gigabit per square inch and read back with low error rates and good off-track performance. © 1990 IEEE
