Direct recombination and Auger deexcitation channels of La 4d→4f resonant excitations in LaB6
Abstract
La 4d94f1 excited states (P11, D13, and P13) created by resonant photoexcitations hν+4d10→4d94f1 decay via direct recombination and Auger deexcitation channels as revealed from a photon energy dependence of photoemission spectra of LaB6. The Auger deexcitation channel is dominant for D13 and P13 excited states below the 4d core-level threshold, while for the P11 excited state above the threshold both channels are important to a comparable extent. © 1980 The American Physical Society.
