Bio

Dr. Jennifer Kelly is a recently joined Research Scientist at IBM Research Europe (UK), currently focussing on the application of AI/ML to biological and clinical data within the Healthcare and Life Sciences sector.

She received her PhD in bioinformatics and metagenomics, and subsequently completed a 5-year post-doctoral career at The University of Liverpool focussing on elucidating the role of host-associated microbial communities in health and disease through computational and wet-lab approaches, across numerous host species.

Within IBM Research, her interests and expertise lie within the application and development of computational approaches, including bioinformatics, data science, AI and ML, to analyse and integrate large-scale multiomics, non-omics and clinical data, to derive novel biological insights regarding the role of the microbiome in human health and disease. She is particularly interested in modelling host-microbiome interactions through integration of host and microbiome data.
