Space-charge associated with Fano-type resonances in nanostructures
Abstract
It is shown, by analysis in terms of the eigenvalues of the S matrix, that the Fano type of transmission resonance in nanostructures has the same space-charge property as applies to the simple Lozentzian resonances. The total space charge in the structure enclosed by the leads, due to filling all electron states (of one spin state) over the energy range of a narrow resonance, is equal to just one electron charge. © 1996 American Institute of Physics.
