SciScribe: Automating & Contextualizing Literature Reviews in Cardiac Surgery
Abstract
The speed and availability of modern search engines has overshadowed the library’s reference desk of old, including the services of its professional librarians, which go far beyond simple information retrieval. Recent advances in artificial intelligence now enable automation of more comprehensive services, including collation and contextualization of literature in specific areas of interest. We describe the key aspects of a work product developed in collaboration between Cleveland Clinic and IBM, wherein IBM’s Deep Search platform has been augmented to accelerate literature reviews in cardiac surgery.
