Phase transitions in charge-density-wave and mass-density-wave systems in two and three dimensions
Abstract
Recent theoretical work on phase transitions in layered compounds, intercalation compounds, absorbed rare gas monolayers, and on clean metal surfaces is reviewed. The ordered state in these systems is a charge-density-wave or a mass-density-wave in two or three dimensions. Many of the transitions are physical realizations of theoretical models of great current interest. © 1980.
