OLED device simulation with an outcoupling model integrated with electron and exciton processes
Abstract
An outcoupling model was combined with an electron/exciton model to create a comprehensive device simulator for OLED devices. Calculations were compared with experiments for typical fluorescent and phosphorescent devices. The simulation quantitatively reproduced the device characteristics such as the current density and luminance. In particular, there was excellent agreement with the experiments on the phosphorescent device regarding the exciton quenching caused by the triplet-triplet-annihilation.
