Abstract

Network management moves closer to the attainment of its ultimate goal of creating a network management solution that will enable managers to control applications and devices from a simple console. Developments in network management operating system (NMOS) standards such as those of the International Standard Organization's 802.1 and TCP/IP-based network management protocol (SNMP) promise solutions to present problems associated in network management.
