Lasing in organic circular grating structures
Abstract
Optically pumped organic polymer lasers, fabricated by spin coating a thin film onto a nanopatterned SiC2 circular-grating surface-emitting distributed Bragg reflector, were discussed. A peak inside the stop band that leads to lasing with a reduced threshold was observed for certain grating parameters. The origin of the peak was investigated using an analytical model, based on the transfer-matrix method. The theoretical results were found to be converging with the experimental findings.
