Direct observation of grain-boundary diffusion by scanning auger microscopy
Abstract
Scanning Auger electron microscopy has revealed the diffusion of silver at relatively low temperature along grain boundaries in gold films, and its subsequent diffusion over the surface of the films. The results point the way to quantitative studies of grain-boundary and surface-diffusion coefficients on a microscopic scale. © 1977, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
