Decay of surface potential in insulators
Abstract
The potential decay due to injected carriers in the presence of thermal carriers of an insulator which has been initially electrostatically charged is investigated. The problem was originally formulated by Wintle, but the effect of thermal carriers on the observables (e.g., surface potential) was not calculated. We calculate these effects and correct some inconsistencies in an earlier work. © 1972 The American Institute of Physics.
