CASE STUDY: MAPPING ADA TO THE NEBULA INSTRUCTION SET ARCHITECTURE.
Abstract
There has been some controversy over the problems posed by implementing Ada using the Nebula Instruction Set Architecture. It appears that the Nebula Instruction Set Architecture does not provide an adequate environment for implementing Ada. The question arises as to what would make a good mapping, and what could be done to use existing ISAs and implement a high level language. It is the author's intention to propose a layer which is interwoven between the two environments to make them fit together more efficiently. The goal here is not to come up with a sure fire way of mapping a HLL into an ISA but to serve as an example of what some considerations must be addressed and what non-Von Neumann principles can be applied.
