Business patterns and viewpoints
Abstract
The concept of viewpoints was used in understanding and describing business patterns, reusable abstract constructs for business specifications. The viewpoints and patterns which were described were applied in requirements engineering. The workflow and process specifications were considered as a part of a business specification. The paper shows how different viewpoints may be used within a single pattern, and how patterns used in specifying different viewpoints may be used to describe a business. How different viewpoints serve to separate the concerns of different abstraction levels was also shown.
