Bubble state stability in rotating fields in garnets and under Permalloy propagation patterns

View publication

Abstract

Two experimental techniques are employed to study the rotating field state stability in ion-implanted garnets: (1) current-access-rocking in the presence of a rotating in-plane field and (2) field-access-rocking between and under Permalloy bars. The results of these experiments show that stable states do exist in a rotating field and that the state transition boundaries are perturbed only slightly by the presence of the Permalloy. Areas that are explored include the frequency dependence and garnet to Permalloy spacing dependence of the state transition boundaries. The results show that both 0 and 1 states are stable for a broad range of drive field conditions and Permalloy to garnet spacings.
