Amith Singhee

Amith Singhee is Director of IBM Research India and Chief Technology Officer of IBM India/South Asia. As Director, Amith sets the strategy for the Research division in IBM India for driving forward-looking innovation that fuels growth for IBM’s products and services. This includes foundational research in the areas of Hybrid Cloud, AI, Quantum Computing, Cybersecurity, and Sustainability. As CTO, he engages with the regional ecosystem in academia and industry to represent IBM’s technology vision.

On the technical front, Amith is responsible for a global research agenda in AI for IT that comprises a team of about a 100 researchers across the globe. In this role he drives OKRs that leverage AI-powered research innovations to drive client time-to-value and market adoption of IBM's hybrid cloud related offerings across Infrastructure (IBM Z, IBM FS Cloud, Edge), Software (Red Hat OpenShift, IBM AIOps portfolio, Websphere Hybrid Edition) and Consulting. Amith has extensive experience in applying artificial intelligence, IoT, enterprise architecture, Cloud and mobile to real-world business processes with large enterprises globally and across multiple sectors such as retail, energy, agriculture, buildings and chip design.

Amith has a PhD from Carnegie Mellon University and is an IIT Kharagpur alum.
