NOISE CANCELLATION FOR HEARING AIDS.
Abstract
The 'Cocktail Party Effect' describes the considerable reduction in the ability to separate a desired speaker from noise for people who wear hearing aids. This work addresses the problem through the use of multimicrophone hearing aids and advanced signal processing methods. An approach for enhancing a desired speaker while suppressing the interference is described and evaluated. Some demonstrations of the attainable results will be given.
