STABILIZING SCHEME FOR DIFFERENCE EQUATIONS.
Abstract
Unstable filters resulting say from the solution of an identification problem are often viewed as undesirable. The problem is usually approached by rejecting solutions which constitute unstable filters. In this work an alternative approach which modifies the filter solution so as to guarantee stability is proposed. An additional advantage of the approach is that the possibility that the true filter is unstable is not rejected apriori.
