Crystal Growth and Electrical Properties of Potassium-Strontium and Potassium-Lead Niobates Containing Lanthanum
Abstract
Crystal growth conditions are described for compositions from the KNbO3-SrNb2O6-LaNb3O9 and KNbO3-PbNb2O6-LaNb3O9 ternary systems. Typical compositions examined were the tetragonal tungsten bronze structures of (KNbO3)45(SrNb2O6)55 containing 3, 6, 9, and 18 w/o (weight per cent) LaNb3O9, KPb2Nb5O15 with 3 w/o LaNb3O9, and (KPb2Nb5O15)x-(K2LaNb5O15)1−x where x = 0.4 and 0.6. The dielectric constant has been determined as a function of temperature for each composition. © 1968, The Electrochemical Society, Inc. All rights reserved.
