Beat Weiss

Before joining IBM Research in 1987, Beat Weiss worked as technician in the spinning mill industry. He received the FH degree in Electronics Engineering from Yuventus Zurich in 1993.

From 1987 to 1993, he was involved in designing and building UHV Systems and responsible for an optical spectroscopy lab. Since 1993 he is working as an Engineer at IBM Research in various Communication System and Server Projects.

He is responsible for HW development starting from the idea, to realization and using the system in corresponding research projects. His interests include high-performance and power efficient computing.

Beat is currently member of the Hybrid Cloud Research Department of the IBM Research Europe Laboratory in Switzerland.
