About us
IBM Research – Australia is one of IBM’s 12 global research labs, and the largest Industrial Research Lab in Australia. Opened in 2011 in Melbourne, the Lab unites both research and development, and has a team that consists of Interns, PostDocs, Scientists, Software Engineers and Distinguished Engineers. As a team, we work closely with clients to understand their business challenges, innovation opportunities and how AI powered solutions can be applied in real-life situations. The research pursued in our Lab focuses on conceiving, designing and building next-generation systems that will transform the industry. Some of our specific goals in health services include: furthering our understanding of epilepsy, and using the eye as a sensor to gain insight into our general health condition. In financial and government services we implement AI enabled Blockchain technology to improve productivity. We also develop IoT and AI systems that improve energy efficiency and lead to improved asset management.
