Wireless transponder package
Abstract
IBM research division has developed a thin flexible radiofrequency identification (RFID) tag for transportation applications such as electronic toll collection and railcar identification, for personal and animal identification, and for object tracking. The tag package includes a single chip incorporating RF, analog, digital logic, and memory circuits, a memory small resonant antenna, plastic epoxy chip encapsulation, and a laminated plastic package cover. The results for the stress testing of the tag are briefly discussed.
