We report tunneling studies on evaporated A 15 V-Ga alloy films as a function of gallium composition. Tc data and anomalies in the tunneling I-V characteristics as one deviates from the stoichiometric composition are presented and discussed from the point of view of the superconductivity and materials science of these alloys. We also report observations of Pauli splitting of the superconducting energy gap in high-magnetic-field measurements on these V-Ga tunnel junctions. © 1984 The American Physical Society.
