Study of the SO2 distribution in Venice by means of an air quality simulation model
Abstract
In this paper an improved air quality simulation model, based on that developed by Shir and Shieh for the St Louis (Missouri) metropolitan area, is presented, together with the results of its application to the urban and industrial area of Venice (Italy). The model is designed to substantially reduce the artificial diffusion which always occurs when applying grid models to point source emissions. The results of the computations show that the model is capable of describing the short term pollution field, providing adequately detailed input parameters are supplied. © 1979.
