"static" Jahn-Teller-induced random strains in TmxY1-xVO4
Abstract
Electron paramagnetic resonance of TmxY1-xVO4: Gd3+ shows that the fluctuating random strains in this system are due to long-range interactions between Tm3+ Jahn-Teller ions. The fluctuations sharply slow down at low temperatures and the strains may be considered "static" in the time scale (10-9 sec) of the experiments. © 1982 The American Physical Society.
