SOI antennas and wafer bulk connection

Abstract

We describe theory and practice for two different styles of wafer bulk connections and antenna rules in SOI technology. The two approaches are the "floating-chip" and the "lightning rod" scenarios. Apparently conflicting reported results are reconciled in a single conceptual framework. We report new data from both design styles for both transistors and a functional circuit. ©2008 IEEE.
