Reverse de erase medium noise analysis on exchange-coupling effect in coupled granular/continuous perpendicular recording media
Abstract
The experimental investigation of the role of intergranular exchange coupling in a coupled granular/continuous (CGC) perpendicular medium structure was performed. The degree of exchange coupling was systematically controlled by changing the number of Co/Pt bilayers in the continuous layer. The switching field distribution (SFD) was estimated from Kerr loops and it was found that the SFD became narrower for media with a thicker continuous layer.
