Reflective nematic LC devices for LCOS applications
Abstract
Various nematic LC modes including band-shifted twisted film compensated twisted nematic mode for LCOS applications are reviewed. The effects of fringe-field-induced disclination on display performance and the mechanism of slow response of the disclination line between two topologically inequivalent LC states are presented. The response times of nematic LC modes are analized for video or field sequential color applications. A method of flick reduction by thin film passivation is presented.
