Possible evidence for mixed symmetry of the order parameter in the cuprates

The current experimental evidence for the symmetry of the order parameter in the cuprates is reviewed. New experiments on tetragonal T12201 are discussed. These experiments put stronger constrains on any theory of high temperature superconductivity, due to the lack of observation of a second transition below Tc in this material. © 1998 Academic Press Limited.
