Phase Characteristics of Reflection Electro-Absorption Modulators
Abstract
Asymmetric Fabry-Perot(F-P) reflection modulators1 with multi-quantum well cavities perform as excellent intensity modulators with high contrasts and large reflectivity changes. In addition to the intensity modulation caused by the absorption changes in the cavity, an accompanying phase modulation results from the refractive index changes that correlate with the absorption change through the Kramers-Kronig transformation2-3. © 1993 Optical Society of America
