Non-blocking transactional mobile agent execution
Abstract
A prototype system for non-blocking transactional mobile agent execution was developed for e-business applications. Mobile agents were described as computer programs acting autonomously and traveling through a network of heterogeneous machines on user's behalf. Execution atomicity ensured that either all or none operations of the agent succeed, in the face of infrastructure failures. The transactional mobile agent execution systems were required to have the properties of durability, consistency, isolation and deadlock resolution, which were enforced using standard approaches.
