Measurement of the Relaxation Time of the Eastman 9740 Bleachable Dye
Abstract
An upper limit of between 25 and 35 ps has been determined for the relaxation time of the Eastman 9740 bleachable-dye Q-switch solution. The measurement was made by determining the time dependence of the transmission of the dye cell inside a mode-locked Nd: glass laser, using a delayed, attenuated pulse from the same laser as a probe.
