High temperature NLO chromophores and polymers
Abstract
A variety of thermally stable NLO chromophores with reasonable non-linearities for use in high temperature poled polymer applications are reported. The incorporation of a representative example directly into polyimides without a flexible tether group leads to materials with high glass transition temperatures and outstanding thermal stabilities. The high Tg values result in exceptional stabilities of the polar order for electrode poled samples.
