High-performance Web site design techniques
Abstract
Presented are new techniques for designing Web sites that need to handle large request volumes and provide high availability. These techniques include redundant hardware, load balancing, Web server acceleration, and efficient management of dynamic data. Most of these techniques were deployed at the official Web site for the 1998 Olympic Winter Games.
