FAST YET VERY LOW COST VISION SYSTEM.

A cost-effective application of machine vision to the 100% inspection of small piece parts is described. The problem and the solution demonstrated represents, in the author's opinion, one of the few applications of machine vision where no alternative method could have achieved satisfactory results. The advantages of customising the vision hardware and algorithms and of providing a high level of software are shown.
