Numerical calculations of the low temperature ultrasonic attenuation due to thermal phonons have been made. The effects of various approximations are found by successively including them. It is found, for example, that the consistent inclusion of dispersion of the thermal phonons leads to increased temperature dependences at low temperatures. © 1973.
