Adsorbate line shapes and multiple lines in XPS; comparison of theory and experiment
Abstract
It is shown that XPS core lines from adsorbates can be asymmetric, and/ or split, even when only one adsorbate state is present on the surface. In accord with recent theoretical developments, both these effects can be attributed to screening of the core hole by the metal electrons. © 1978.
