The fabrication of an optically pumped polymeric laser was demonstrated and its performance was evaluated. The device showed emission linewidths of 1 meV. A change in the grating period resulted in a different emission wavelength. The conjugated polymers showed a broad gain spectrum which allowed the integration of such laser arrays on a single quartz chip.
