A semi-custom design flow in high-performance microprocessor design

Abstract

The custom circuit design flow in high-performance microprocessors is discussed. The development of these microprocessors require concurrent design at logical and physical levels with tightly interlocked schedules. The methodology discussed combines flexible custom circuit design with automated tuning and physical design tools for optimized design throughout the development cycle.
