Sina Asuka Klampt

Sina is a Research Scientist at IBM Research - Tokyo. She is part of the Material Discovery team, where she focuses on advancing AI for scientific discovery. Her research interests span AI for mathematics, climate and sustainability, and material discovery.

Her recent work includes leveraging large language models for battery material discovery - particularly in assessing electrolyte suitability - and developing foundation models for materials. In the climate domain, she has explored geospatial foundation model fine-tuning for downstream tasks such as land use and land cover (LULC) classification, flood detection, and wildfire monitoring.

She received her BSc and MSc in Computational Science and Engineering from ETH Zurich, Switzerland in 2022 and 2024, respectively.
