Dr. Francesco Tacchino joined the Quantum Computational Science group at IBM Research – Zurich in 2020. His work focuses on the development of effective quantum algorithms for physics, chemistry and machine learning applications.
Francesco received his PhD in 2020 from the University of Pavia, Italy, with a thesis on “Digital quantum simulations and machine learning on near-term quantum processors”. He holds a M. Sc. in Theoretical Physics (2016) and a B. Sc. in Physics (2014), both at the University of Pavia, and a Second Level Diploma (2017), class of Science and Technologies, from the Institute for Advanced Study (IUSS), Pavia.
