Bio

Daiju Nakano received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in physics from Tokyo University in 1994 and 1996, respectively. He joined IBM in 1996 and is currently Technical Lead of Quantum HW in Japan, IBM Quantum. His original major field is optical physics related with laser spectroscopy and in IBM he has been involved with a liquid crystal display technology, TFT-array tester development, wireless communication research, neuromopphic science, material discovery and quantum. More specifically, he has been involved with optical design and evaluation for a color-filter-less LCD, overdrive technology for fast response LCD, effective backlight design for collimated backlight LCD, development of TFT-array tester for AMOLED, high bandwidth digital signal processing for wireless communication, reservoir computing, material discovery technology by AI and quantum hardware technology.
