Workload based optimization of probe-based storage
Abstract
A design for probe-based storage devices was evaluated, focusing on its behavior under different workloads and array configurations. The dependencies between service time and a set of configurable parameters were identified. The device model was simulated with traced workloads, checking the performance with different set of parameter values. Results show that the same set of values is suitable for workloads that differ in their sequentially level and request sizes.
