Wireless infrared transmission: how to reach all office space
Abstract
A highly robust and flexible wireless infrared ad-hoc networking concept 'Reach-All-Space' is presented. Reliable multipoint connectivity is achieved with virtual bandwidth adaptation allowing data rate vs distance tradeoffs and graceful throughput degradation under hostile channel conditions. Achievable communication cells under realistic ambient light environments are predicted analytically and verified experimentally for data rates of 125 kbps to 4 Mbps.
