Using color in computer applications: A psychophysical perspective

Abstract

A study on using colors in computer applications is presented. Color representations are being used in an increasingly wider range of applications, fueled by advances in electronic photography, digital image compression, and portable storage media. Greater emphasis is being placed on higher level mechanisms of color perception, such as image and color semantics, color memory, aesthetics, attention and emotion.
