Two-photon pumped lasing from a two-dimensional photonic bandgap structure with polymeric gain material
Abstract
The two-photon pumped lasing from a circular grating, surface emitting distributed Bragg laser with methyl-substituted ladder-type poly(p-phenylene) (MeLPPP) as gain material was demonstrated. A low lasing threshold for two-photon pumped upconverting was achieved. The lasing is applicable for two-photon excited emission studies in biology, medicine and photonics due to higher confinement, low scattering and extremely low background signal available by it.
